Favicon

I now have my very own favicon for my URL! I finally found a site that was easy to follow instructions and gave lots of help on how to get one for my blog. If you are interested in making your own favicon for your blogger URL then visit Tips for New Bloggers.

Menu Plan Monday

Ok so this isn't a complete menu plan but I did plan some.

Monday: Slow Cooked Pork Barbecue

Tuesday: Slow Cooked Meatloaf

Wednesday: Herbed Slow Cooker Chicken

Thursday: I wanted to do a Smoked Beef Brisket but the store was out of briskets so we will probably do leftovers or sandwiches.

Friday: Cheesy Potato Soup (I don't really have a recipe I'm going to wing it from reading many different recipes and see what happens. How fun!)

Saturday: Chicken Stuffed Dumplings (my favorite!) We are having 3 couples over from church as well.

Well, there is my menu! You probably noticed the use of a slow cooker a lot (the brisket would have also been slowcooked the soup is getting slow cooked as well) I've been using it a lot lately and it's been wonderful! I just would like a bigger one now or maybe two.

It's Sunday!

I enjoyed a very rainy Sunday today. As a matter of fact it's still raining. Our Pastor, my husband, preached on Revival in the Sunday morning and evening services in preparation for our Winter Revival on the 20th through the 23rd of this month. We are having Evangelist Lou Rossi come and if you have never heard him preach you are missing out.

I was very pleased at the turn out to my meeting about Ladies Conference after service. My goal has always been to have more ladies go each year and this year I have had my doubts about even having as many go as went last year but it looks like we may either reach the goal or equal last years group. I'm very excited about it! I always love Ladies Conference!

Don't Quit

I had forgotten all about this poem. I memorized it in high school and put it on everyone of my binders. I love it. If you are feeling low today I hope this encourages you to keep pressing on.

Baby Cleaner and Toddler Woes

Who needs a Roomba when you have an automatic floor cleaner built into your baby just suit her (or him) up in their new micro-fiber pjs and Wa La! Floors clean in seconds! lol

Does anyone else have problems getting their 2 year old to take medicine or is it just me. She absolutely refuses to take it. When I'm able to get her to take it she throws it all up. There are some interesting tidbits and helps I've found online though most of them are a before you've made them hate medicine remedy and it's a little late for that for me. When she sees it in the room she's suspicious already.

Walking in the Light of Life

“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that
followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of
life.” ~ John 8:12

On the 24th I'll be starting a Ladies Bible Study with the women in my church and any others who wish to attend. We are going to be studying about our walk with God. The first lesson is Walking in the Light of Life. This morning as I was going over the lesson God showed me some things that I need to start doing in my own life. When I came upon the following part of the lesson is where I discovered my shortcomings.

It is, and as we seek to follow Him in the everyday details of our
lives, we are going to discover that He will ILLUMINATE for us the following
three things:

The truth that we need to know in order to make the right kinds
of decisions in our lives.
Psalm 43:3
Proverbs 3:5-6

The direction that we will need to go as we journey
along life’s paths.

Psalm 23:3
Proverbs 3:6
Psalm 119:105

The security that
we will want to feel as we experience heartache and pain as we deal with people
and experiences in our everyday lives.

Psalm 27
Psalm 3:5
Psalm 4:8
Proverbs 3:24
Psalm 23:4

The last point, that security is what I want. There has been something in my life recently where I have been avoiding someone because I was scared and unsure in our relationship. After reading this and the scriptures along with it I realize that I need to trust in the Lord and He will take care of me. I love the feeling of my husbands arms wrapped around me in a hug especially when my emotions are not the best. I want that feeling with God my Father. I want to feel His arms wrapped around me as I deal with situations and circumstances in my life.

While reading Psalm 27 I also came upon a verse that I love. In Psalm 27:8 it says, "When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek." This is the prayer for my life with my relationship with God. How about you?

*The Bible Study Walking in the Light of Life was graciously provided to me by Julie Fink a pastor's wife at Grace Baptist Church of Lockport, Illinois. She also has a website, Ladies of Grace, that gives encouragement and help to other women.

2008 Here I come!

Well, I've just spent my first day in 2008 and it was fun! We went to a friend's house and had a great time. She is also a homeschool and since my oldest, Ballerina Girl, needs to start this fall she let me borrow a ton of A Beka stuff to look through and use if I decide to go with A Beka. I'm very nervous about homeschooling. I went to Christian School for most of my life and loved it and am very pro-Christian school if your church has a good one but unfortunately we don't have one at all. So any helps or links anyone can give is of great appreciation.

2008 Things to accomplish:

  1. Potty train Sissy
  2. Finish the house so that we can use the stuff that we bought it for such as a yard a second bathroom a playroom/family room.
  3. Stay in better contact with friends and family

Those three things are just the tip of the iceberg of my "resolutions". With the Lord's help I will be able to accomplish all of them. Happy New Year!
