Goodbye, Old Friend

Goodbye, old home, our time with you has come to an end. I have for the last time tucked my children into bed under your roof. No more will I stand at your sink doing dishes. Gone are the days of vacuuming your carpets and cleaning your windows. We had some good times together, you and I. You have seen me through some good times and some bad. Precious memories have been made in your walls. All three of my precious girls were brought home from the hospital to your comforting embrace. Two have taken their first steps and have said their first words inside of your heart. I leave you with the hope that another family will soon come and fill your void. And you will care for them as you cared and watched over us. Thank you for the time that we have spent with you. So long, old friend.

My Purse

My friend over at Tammy's Times has done something.....great, Ballerina Girl, who is supposed to be taking a nap, has just fallen off of her bed while jumping on it and hit her head on her train table. At the same time Blue Eyes picks now to start a crying solo. Ballerina Girl's nose bled just a little but she has a wallopin' good sized knot on her forehead. I don't believe there is a concussion though. Well, at least she won't be jumping on her bed anymore, hopefully. I believe experience is the best teacher for some things with my children. If it's something that is not life threatening I usually will let them find out for themselves the consequences of their actions. All the while we are trying to console Ballerina Girl, Sissy is in her crib being a ham. Honking her baby dolls nose and doing some more plugged nose solos, she thinks she is the life of the party.

....back to my original post. As I was saying my friend over at Tammy's Times has posted about what's in her purse. She challenged us to find out what's in our own purses so here is mine.

It took me about a month to actually start using this purse. It can hold alot. Which is a very bad thing for me. Because I tend to fill my purse to bursting with stuff.

Birthday Party Fun

Fun things happen at birthday parties or should I say funny things. Especially when it's a party with 4 year olds and below. The party I went to today with my 3 girls was held for a little guy turning 4. The only thing is he was the only male party member. His party was attended solely by girls (except for his little brother who is 1). I told his mom to get a picture of him with them all because as a teenager he'll want it framed. His mom is the only one supplying our church with boys.
I spent most of the party watching my 2 year old, Sissy. She is sort of a loner and there was a group of soccer kids there that were a little too much for her. It was funny watching what she would do next. They had those great paper crowns that they hand out and hers kept falling down over her eyes. After most of the older kids cleared out of the play place she got up enough courage and actually went up into the massive maze.
Kids birthday parties never go as planned. No matter how organized or well planned it is the kids always have the last say. Especially when it comes to the presents. They don't sit there and open them one by one while all their little friends ooh and ah. They open one and then want to start playing with it. Then all the little friends jump out of their seats and crowd around trying to open up other presents or want to start playing with the present the birthday boy has just opened. Myself and another mother were discussing this at the party comparing todays party to the one she herself hosted for her little girl only a couple of months ago at the same McDonalds.
After 2 and 1/2 hours of fun, sugar, and fast food we went home. Yay! Of course the kids don't want to go home though. Thank you, Lord, for wonderful church family. I made it back to my van with the help of a lady and teen girl from our church. When the van doors shut though I announce, "Nap time for EVERYONE when we get home!" While I was trying to unbuckle Sissy from her seat she kept singing while holding her nose closed. Why? I guess she like the sound it made.
Right now I am listening to the beautiful silence of 3 children in their beds. My oldest, Ballerina Girl, is not asleep yet. She's playing with her newly acquired balloon that will eventually lose it's lifting powers over the next couple of days and wind up on the floor of my living room until I trip over it for the last time and put it out of it's misery. The other two, Sissy and Blue Eyes have now fallen asleep and I have some precious time of quiet. Thank you, Lord!

Have you Etsy'd today?

What's an Etsy? Etsy is a place where you can find delightful treasures and gifts to buy, buy, buy from people and places all over! If you haven't been there yet I highly recommend it. I first discovered Etsy when my friend over at Tammy's Times opened up her own little shop called Treasures by Tammy.

Another fine thing about Etsy is that you can also sell, sell, sell! Geared more toward the crafty people of this earth from what I could see Etsy sellers make the product that they sell. If you're thinking that this stuff is something you might find in a thrift store that some first timer tried to make you'd be completely wrong! There are vast amounts of beautiful items that would take you a lifetime to go through.

Why am I writing this post you ask. Do I have an Etsy shop of my own? No. I have just enjoyed my trips to this delightful place and wished to share. Also if you would like to learn more about Etsy my friend over at Tammy's Times has a post talking about her Etsy experience. Just click here and scroll down to the post entitled "Etsy".

One day left!

We worked and worked and worked yesterday and got something accomplished at least. The upstairs got almost completely painted. I do like the neutral color. And we also painted the upstairs bathroom. It is now the most complete room in the house. Hopefully, as I'm writing this it is being finished off.

My cabinets were also delivered yesterday! Woohoo! I was cringing and holding my breath as the men took them off of the truck and up the stairs to the kitchen area. Now I know why God allowed the floors to come only two days ago. If they had come when they were supposed to at the end of September, they would have been in and I would have killed myself with the anxiety of all those guys putting those cabinets all over the brand new wood floor! Scraping them over the floors and moving them around. AACK! The Lord sure knows what He's doing.

Another blessing, the man who made the cabinets, very well and inexpensively I might add, is also going to install them for us. He usually doesn't install the cabinets but he is a very nice man and is doing it for us! They should be in by the end of today.

Moving!!

Ok, so I'm back, again. I've not blogged in a month. Wow, it actually seems longer than that. Yes, you guessed it the house has been filling my life, morning, noon and night, well, sort of. But the end is in sight! drum roll please pdddddddddddddddddddddddd...this Friday we are moving into our house...da..........da...........da..da............. (have you seen those duh commercials? I think they're so neat) I'm not sure how great of an announcement that is though. Check out these pix (I took them yesterday)!

The Master Bath
(Ok so I already knew this wouldn't be ready by Friday a long time ago.)

The Master Bedroom
(It just screams romance doesn't it.)

The Outside (as if you couldn't tell)
It's like this on both sides too! Who needs air conditioning.

Here's a plus my floors came a day early from the already super late backorder we had!

The kitchen/dining room/living room
(Notice the floors pictured above are not on the floor in the pics below)
That's getting done on Thursday
Ok so the stars have nothing to do with it. I think my camera needs to be cleaned.

My side yard!!
All the yards, front, back and sides look terrible but I have a dream!!
I'm going to try bulbs for the first time and by this spring this area will be like walking through a wildflower field.

Ok, so what do you think? Be honest and let me know. I'm dying to hear from thousands hundreds anyone that might happen to accidentally come across this blog.
