Computer Ups and Downs

I know I haven't written any posts in forever these last two weeks. I go through ups and downs in my relationship with my computer. There are times when I just can't live without it and couldn't possibly go for more than an hour without making sure all was well with my second love in my little box.

But there are times when I just wake up one day and have no interest whatsoever in going near a computer.

These last two weeks have been one of those times. I'll resume my regular daily posting now. However there will be a slight interlude while I am away at a Ladies Conference at the end of this week.

Tackle It Tuesday

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

Today's Tackle is a clean up job. I'm going to be spending 15 minutes at a time in each room of the house and just clean. Putting stuff away, straightening things out, dusting, and vacuuming/mopping the respective areas. I would like to get ready for Valentine's Day and make this place a lovely place to come home to. Especially for my nice dinner date on Friday here at the house.

Then once I'm finished I'll be updating my blog with some recent going's on.

Shoes Can Make or Break Your Day

Do you feel frumpy? Like you can't quite get into the groove of the day. Even though your face is on, your makeup is good and your outfit is so cute. You still feel like staying on the couch and channel surfing or curling up to take a nice nap all day long. Or maybe you feel like this:

Look down. It may be because of your feet (or what's on them).

What you have on your feet (or lack of) can cause a lethargic feeling keeping you from being productive.

On days I feel like doing absolutely nothing, I'm usually wearing these:

My beautiful comfy slippers that I got for Christmas. (I asked for them and I love how warm and toasty they keep my toes but not very fashion friendly)
Or I'm going barefoot. No picture, I didn't want to scare anyone.

To get things done and to be able to go outside or to the store I typically slip these on:

While they are very comfortable and "go with anything" almost, they only stay nice looking for about one day, at least at my house. As you can see these shoes don't compliment any outfit anymore. They're best for rough activities that you don't care what shoes you're wearing.

So today I got these:

They are cute and comfy and will add to your outfit not detract. (Plus, they were only $8!)

Valentine Bookmark

My friend Tammy has a shop on Etsy called Treasures by Tammy. I recently purchased a heart bookmark from her to giveaway at our Ladies Bible Study. I thought it was pretty in the pictures I saw but the pictures don't do it justice!

It is so delicate to hold and it's just so beautiful! She still has a couple left in her shop so you'd better hurry to get your own! I want to get another one for myself!

Thanks, Tammy!

Super Sale and A Dream Come True

After Church tonight I went with our Youth Leader's wife, her sister, and two teen girls to Mervyn's for a super sale that they were having. Their clearance racks were buy one get 2 free! One of the teen girls who needed some new clothes got armloads of stuff for under $50!! While the sales I took advantage of were not nearly that good they were good enough. I ended up buying my husband some new shirts that he really needed and some stuff that I really needed. There was one pair of shoes that was dressy casual but they weren't on the sale that I was looking for so back they went.

It happened!

Today all my dreams came true as we drove up to the house the mail lady was leaving and there on my door step was $1,000,000 THE package. The package that I knew had to contain my (cue the angel choir) Pink Lemonade Boutique Bag that I've been wanting for a long, long, very long, oh and did I say long? time.

Following are pictures of that beautiful bag.

There are so many different fabrics to chose from but I finally after a couple of hours of decision making decided on this one.

It has 3 very nice sized pockets on the inside.

For an example on how roomy they are I've put my wallet in one of them. My wallet is big and it fits very nicely inside!!

Finally, here I am stylin' my new bag!!

(Can you tell I'm just a little bit excited?)

I had it with me at Church tonight and they were on me like vultures the excited ladies they were. I knew I told people about how cute these bags are and how much I wanted one but I didn't realize it was that many! One after another, "Ooooo, is that the bag you were talking about? How cute!"

I'm already loving this bag like I knew I would. It can carry all the stuff that I take everywhere, diapers, baby food, kitchen sink, wallet, Bible for Church, small children, pens, hand sanitizer, refrigerator, and anything else I might have with me at the time.

I also have one more thing that I'm expecting but it hasn't arrived yet but I'll let you know when it does!

Tackle It Tuesday

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

I haven't participated in one of these in a long time so I thought it was about time. Today I want to focus on making my master bedroom a little more romantic. Almost every book I've read on marriage as well as every couples retreat or marriage session I've gone to have placed emphasis on having a beautiful master bedroom. How it should be the place you spend major bucks on redecorating and not the kitchen or your kids rooms. Well, right now, I've put more thought into my kids rooms than I've put into our room and it's time to change that.

Today I'm goin to start with getting the clutter out and clothes organized and see if my wonderful husband will finally move our final piece of furniture, some dresser drawers, into the room so I actually have a place to put the clothes.

Dinner Party

More friends came over tonight and it was a lot of fun! I'm loving my kitchen and beautiful house! I stopped at Walmart (big mistake!) to pickup some things I needed for the party and it was packed! But I did get myself a 6qt. Crock Pot!! I've been wanting one for a long time. It came with one of those little dippers for your sauces or dips. I loved it's price as well. The only thing I don't like about it (sort of) is that it's stainless steel and red. Actually I like the red color but it just doesn't match my blue kitchen. Oh well, can't have everything.

Yesterday evening our Church had a family activity at a semi-local family fun center. We played miniature golf or more speed golf. LOL We would all get off our first shot but then Ballerina Girl or Sissy would run ahead and grab the balls and say, "I got your ball, Mommy/Daddy!" They had a lot of fun though. We didn't get home until late from it.

I won!! I don't know how many contests I entered but I actually won something! Rocks in My Dryer was hosting a Bloggy Giveaways Carnival and I won a book The Greatest Love Stories Ever Told from Barbarah on Stray Thoughts. I'm looking forward to getting it and sitting down with a cup of hot tea or hot chocolate (I don't do coffee unless it's a Starbucks White Mocha with Caramel) and just relaxing and reading. I haven't sat down and just read something except during devotions for awhile now.

Well, that's all that's happened this weekend! Enjoy your Sunday!
